Season Starts for Gornal Athletic (thanks Steve!) Gornal Athletic face Wellington at Garden Walk tomorrow (Sat 14th, 2.45pm) with a fresh, youthful side and high hopes for a successful season - with the target of a better than mid-table finish. (note result was a draw 2-2). New manager Simon Williams has told the Dudley News that the Peacocks "may surprise a few teams along the way" and is looking to young players like Leigh Pardoe, Adam Travis and Steven Bowes to step up to the mark and convert junior success into first team consistency. One familiar face in midfield will be club captain Dave Bates.
