News & Goings On Newsfile Sport History Family Roots Find Old Friends Fun & Laughs Poetry // pubs02.txt 29th Novembert 2004 Good Intent Set to Reopen Good Intent All Boarded Up Despite the ominous closure and boarding up of Ruiton's Good Intent, and in contrast to Yampy's recent broodings over the decline of Gornal's pubs (click here), we are pleased to stand corrected as the 'Tent' is now undergoing a thorough refurbishment! We hear that the interior was in such a state that it has had to be completely gutted, while outside a very smart lick of cream paint has been applied. It seems that rumours that it was to be a chinese restaurant were well wide of the mark, and we understand that when it reopens in a couple of weeks the Good Intent will remain in a traditional pub format.
