DUDLEY World War 1 - can you help?

Yampy reader Malcolm Cowburn writes:

I am transcribing a diary that my Grandpa kept briefly prior to going to war in 1917. I am having difficulty in reading what looks like 'H.P.F.'. His sentence is 'I was working on The H.P.F. Dudley, on 60lbs shell heads ...'.

The letter that I am not sure about is the 'H'. It could be an 'L' or even something else. Can anybody help?

Please contact Malcolm at M.CowburnATsheffield.ac.uk (replace AT with @) or alternatively email Yampy at canyouhelp@yampy.co.uk
